This game just felt like a Saturday any time I would play it. At the time I didn't understand screenmodes or color depth. I just knew that this was special compared to the other games in my disk collection. You pilot a very F-Zero style craft through tunnels and over jumps.

Before emulation if you wanted an arcade game for your platform you needed a dedicated person to sit down and work out a manual translation of a game. Crazy Kong is as you might guess, a Donkey Kong clone and one of the better ones at that! I paid 5 whole dollars for this floppy as a kid.

Aldo's Adventure

Don't pass this off as a Donkey Kong clone. While the main character looks like Mario's long haired hispanic clone, it has many little quirks and it's own charm. In an alternate universe I always imagined there is a flourishing Aldo franchise.

Freakin' Funky Fuzzballs

10 year old me totally knew what the 'freakin' in the name was supposed to mean and I would let all the kids know it was REALLY named fuckin' funky fuzzballs. That lasted for about 5 days until my mother overheard me. Then it was "No fuzzballs for you"

Not a game really but a VR engine and sandbox. This was repackaged at some point as Virtual Reality Tool Kit and had a NOVEL of a book with it. Presented here is the same software, different name BUT has a manual with enough info to give you some barings.

Friday Night Poker

This was a game I found on a CD of bootlegs that I bought at an area Peddler's mall. I bought many shareware disks back then but would hold onto my money for a trip to where the bootleg booth was! Not a great game but the graphics, top notch!

FX Fighter

Here I was with my 486/200, max ram and a new game pad. I found this game at K-Mart and finally had a fighting game to rival my buddie's console. Well almost. It's a good fighting game if you don't know that others exist. Fantastic music though!

Captain Comic

Captain comic! In terms of PC sidescrollers there were some that existed before this game but not very many. This was a project by an author who wanted in on the video game industry and managed to produce a product all himself, across platforms and make a small bundle in the process. I never really liked the game BUT still play it out of sheer respect for what went into creating it at the time.

Skool Daze: Class of 99'

SkoolDaze isn't a normal game, it's not a puzzler, not a platformer. Non-linear gameplay with mechanics based around attending a Biritsh School. This is a remake of a classic Spectrum/Commodore game.

Cylde's Adventure

This game was one of my first sidescrollers for the PC. I had an adlib audio card (16 bit) and was treated to what this game really had to offer: That surreal, almost unnearving squeaky clean synthesized sound. This game came on a four pack of floppies with a Gravis gamepad that I had bought at a privately owned "Media Center" Store in northern Indianapolis some time in the early 90's. In an alternate reality this was the Mario of the day :)!

This game was vaporwave and the backrooms all rolled into one before either concept was invented. I see and feel this game everytime I turn on Macintosh Plus or Vektroid. It's pure liminal play, advancing down a corridor and hidding a ball back and forth. Much like SkyRoads, it was a game that made me feel like I was playing something on anything other than my 386.
