mini updates:

• planning a road trip! lots of little things to take care of, leading to exhausting morning at the mall yesterday. but i'm excited to experience a second spring at our destination
• had a movie evening with some friends! first time watching the grand budapest hotel, lots of fun. it's nice when someone clearly cares about their craft. bonus - partner brought me food during, so i felt very pampered
• reading peace pilgrim's book - nice, but nothing revolutionary yet. still, i hope for some good inspiration as this path of surrender is also my prefered spiritual path
• since i wasn't really using the april ones, i started earlier on the may tarot decks (in case i don't want to take any of them on the road trip, that would take out a chunk of their designated time)
• my comfortable spiritual routine has begun feeling a bit cramped recently. might want to split the devotional part from the meditation, give them both their due attention/some breathing room
• i want to treat the trip as an opportunity for simplifying life further. but i don't think i can leave my laptop, for various official reasons. and so the source of my biggest struggles will be coming along. maybe i should consider somehow blocking the internet on it, or making it more difficult to use? i want to be able to write and read etc. but to only sometimes go online... all the internet "addiction" (idk, quotes just in my case) advice people seem to focus on phone use but there's nothing happening on the phone that would be attractive to me. it's the Big internet on the computer that's the problem, especially because it's distracting from the other real, necessary, happy-making uses of the computer.
