Who Knows You From Your Blog?

No one, really. Seeing how obscure that Geminispace is, there's really only one person that *may* know me, but after I showed them a couple pages via an HTTP proxy and they figured out my handle, they haven't really shown an interest in Gemini. This person is technically minded so it's possible they are quietly stalking me on here without saying anything, but I'm leaning towards that not being the case.

Do You Want To Be Known?

I, like the other bloggers in the referenced gemlog/blog post above, struggle with this. Blogging, and especially gemlogging on Gemini, is so insulated from the WWW and real life that I consider my persona and interactions here to be a refuge from the crap that's out there. I love Gemini, but my hesitation to share with others over the years has been fueled by this desire to keep my refuge out of the spotlight. There's nothing that I've posted that I wouldn't mind someone else reading, but talking into the swath of mostly nerdy strangers is much different than having someone you know make comments on what you write in person or via text. I like this place because I can nerd out and feel like the Internet is closer to what it's supposed to be - run by people, who if they choose, can retain their mostly anonymous pseudonym(s).
