Antenna, Packed Up (ew0k - creator of Antenna)

As many of you will have seen, ew0k has stepped back from running Antenna after several years of selfless service. I have a bit of an Antenna habit, so I've erected a new instance of Antenna here:

The instance is up and accepting submissions in the usual way. There is a light, informal sync with ew0k's instance for the time being, but no-one should rely on that sync mechanism working.

For the time being, feeds submitted to original Antenna instance will show up on mine. Hopefully, others will also be able to get their own Antenna instances up and some means of propagating posts between instances could be found, like in the old Usenet days.

Filters

Filters can't feasibly be synced between Antenna instances en masse. If you had a personal filter set up on ew0k's instance and want to migrate it, I published a tool for managing filters a while back:

(I accept that the stuff I normally circulate via Antenna is very much not of general interest, covering things like the UK leasehold scandal, and all the more reason to have tools for politely ignoring people)

Thanks / better writing

Huge thanks to ew0k for creating and maintaining Antenna for as long as he did, and for packaging it up so others can carry it forward.

The reason Antenna matters to me is that writing my Gemlog has really helped me as a writer - I got about forty thousands words through Gemini a year ago, which I wouldn't have done if there'd been more friction. Announcing new posts on Antenna is the final step in my cherished publishing process, so I have a selfish interest in helping keep it around.
