Lilo & Stitch, Tia Carrere, and vintage Mac warez
Tonight's film was the 2025 remake of Lilo & Stitch. I enjoyed it more than the original, which I never watched when it was new because at the time I was more into LILO, the GRUB precursor.
3/5 - worth watching once.
Then I realised both new and original feature Tia Carrere! Yes, the Tia Carrere from 1995's The Daedalus Encounter, the Mac FMV game that I never played but saw a trailer for. Where would that have been? Video on a computer in 1995 was an exciting novelty. It must have been on a coverdisc of something like The Mac or Macworld magazine.
Anyway, now that we're onto the real subject, there are two early-90s artifacts I'm always on the lookout for:
- An animated advert for a Canon bubblejet printer. It had pastel colours and a funky soundtrack.
- An Excel spreadsheet that used vector drawing objects to draw an incredibly detailed 3D model of an internal combustion engine.
I hereby put this request out into Geminispace, so that it may reach a broad audience.
