Had a great lunch at The Cheshire Cat, a painfully British pub in Ottawa that manages to not be cheesy. Also, it has excellent food and drink, which would help forgive the theme pub sins, if it were.

I start work on Monday! It's approximately 9 months since I did full time work and I've only started doing bits and pieces of work since March. I'm excited though; I learned a lot in my voluntary time off about priorities and structure.

I found that a lot of things that I told myself I wanted to do aren't all that exciting once you _actually_ have the time to do them. Or, alternatively, there's some things that I wanted to dabble in and once I was passed the dabbling phase I'm not interested any longer. And I'm not that interested in making things unless I have a reason to -- and there's only a limited number of things that I need to build for myself.

So; in a way, apart from money to live off / social interactions etc. one of the main things I get from work is (hopefully) a stream of things that people need to exist, and then I can turn my efforts towards making them exist.
