After a long while, I have finally gotten the motivation to watch Star Trek, and so far I'm 14 episodes into the original series and its better than I expected.

My favourite TAS episode is where Spocks relation to his pet (a Sehlat) is portrayed. I also was very reluctant to TAS at first, but it is artistically very well done. The creators clearly poured love for Star Trek in this.... · 1 day ago

That is some beautiful Spock ascii art, I must say. I find Spock the easiest to relate to, as his behaviours are surprisingly similar to mine, as well as how I get mocked and told I lack emotion occasionally, which is probably why I’m hooked currently.
I also passed on the idea of downloading TAS, since I don’t tend to find animation as compelling, but now that I’ve reflected on it, I’ll give it a download once I near the end of TOS (and hopefully reclaim some space on my SSD, since it manages to magically disappear all the time lol). · 3 days ago

True, I’m now on episode 27 in season 1 of TOS, and it was a mixed bag for sure, but I’m glad a vast majority of episodes were really enjoyable. I also have some extra supplementary episodes for TOS downloaded, but haven’t looked into them yet, so that’ll be interesting. · 3 days ago

TOS, as you can tell from my station profile ascii, is dear to my heart. It feels sometimes more like watching a theatre play. Also the original animated series (TAS) is very beautiful. The newschool streaming era stuff does not scratch any itch for me... · 4 days ago

some of the episodes age **terribly**.
but that's the fun thing about the franchise: there are almost a thousand episodes across all the various series.
if you hit a handful of episodes that are just awful, you can keep going and you'll eventually hit a good one again :D · 4 days ago
