The child was getting frustrated with trying to play games on their computer, so I let them try this one. Nothing worked. But having uninstalled Steam, I still see some Steam thing popping up and hogging resources. I just killed it in the System Monitor. Is that a permanent killing of Steam? And is Steam really just malware pretending to be a game system?

Trying to do an assignment for a course for work. Trouble is, it's the wrong kind of assignment - "write about a time at work...." This is the kind of course where I want to bury myself in books. And I suspect that some of my possible examples might piss off the boss...

I find that a lot of my learning comes from poking around and playing with things. This is particularly true with anything technological - computers, phones, cameras, etc. This mostly serves me just fine, but it never takes long before I bump into the limit of what can be learned this way....

Once again, thanks to all those who've provided advice and suggestions for making things work. I've had to go quiet for a bit because of, well, life, but I'm back to try and figure things out. Your help has been much appreciated

I finally remembered to delete my Flickr account. I saw a photo on some other website and thought, "Oh, Flickr! I did rescue my photos from there ages ago! About time I actually deleted the account!" And actually, it was surprisingly easy. Clearly not a Meta product

It seems like Lagrange is pretty popular, and I have managed to get it open and running and it does seem to work pretty well. But when I've tried to install it, even if it is open and running, it isn't showing up in the start menu, not under "all applications", not under "internet", not anywhere I can find.

Less verbosity. Got it. So I haven't managed to get Lagrange installed in a way that sticks. But I do seem to have Alhena going, not in an ideal way, but in a way that allows me to come back, open it, and keep doing stuff. And be here on Station. Progress, of a sort?

Part of trying to figure things out is... I have an old laptop on which I installed Linux Mint, thus reviving said old laptop. I spent a bit of time trying install something in the way of a Gemini client/browser/something, but with very little luck. I think maybe I might need to start with a bare basic intro to Linux.
